The Lankenau Hospital Pain Center offers sophisticated and complex treatments for chronic pain management and is designed to serve patients through evaluation, treatment and referral coordination.

Patients treated in our Center present with various types of chronic pain including:

• Musculoskeletal pain
• Neck and back pain (including herniated disks)
• Nerve damage
• Oncology-related pain
• Shingles
• Post-herpatic neuralgia
• Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy
• Phantom limb pain

Staffed by experienced physicians who are board certified in pain management, anesthesiology and physical medicine and rehabilitation, the goal of the Lankenau Pain Center is to provide comprehensive treatment to help individuals more effectively manage their pain, improve functional status and resume daily activities, with minimal side effects. Once a diagnosis is made, a treatment plan is developed and discussed with the patient, with ongoing communication back to the referring physician. Services are provided on an outpatient basis and include:  

• Epidural injections (cervical, thoracic, lumbar and caudal)
• Selective epidural and root blocks (cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral)
• Facet injections and medical branch blocks (cervical, thoracic and lumbar)
• Sympathetic blockage (stellate ganglion, thoracic, lumbar and hypogastric)
• Discography
• Peripheral nerve blockage
• Radiofrequency denervation
• Epiduroscopy
• Spinal cord stimulation
• Neurolytics of celiac plexus and cancer pain
• Intrathecal and epidural fusion systems
• Percutaneous discectomy/nucleoplas

Outpatient pain management appointments are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Physicians are available on-call 24/7 for emergency cases.
