The units provide large private and semiprivate rooms for each patient and their family. “Rooming-in” is encouraged and enhances the family-centered approach. Labor/Delivery/Recovery (LDR) rooms give women the benefit of staying in one location throughout the birth process — lowering stress and increasing privacy. Equipped operating rooms are within the labor and delivery settings if cesarean section is necessary. A recovery area cares for the patient after a cesarean section and at times for close observation of a high-risk patient.
