Patient & Visitor Information <
For Your Comfort and Convenience Our hospital staff is committed to making your stay pleasant. If there is something additional we can do for you, please don't
hesitate to ask. We'll do all we can to accommodate your request.
Your Personal Belongings and Valuables We suggest you wear your dressing gown, bathrobe and slippers every time you leave your room. Please do not keep valuables,
including cash, important papers, charge cards and jewelry in your room. We advise you to leave these items at home or place
them in the hospital safe or patient belongings closet. An Inventory of Patient Belongings Sheet will need to be completed
and signed by the patient or their representative. Your nurse can assist you with the safekeeping of your belongings. Please
remember that the hospital cannot be responsible for the disappearance or damage of your personal possessions. If you discover
something missing, immediately contact a staff member on your floor. That person will contact the Security Department at ext.
2222.
Meals The Way We Care-Each day you will receive a World Class Patient Service (WCPS) menu on your breakfast tray. The menu is for
your meal selections for the following day. Please have it ready for collection after breakfast so we can be sure you receive
the selections you prefer. Our staff can assist you in making menu selections and explain any choices unfamiliar to you. If
your diet is changed for any reason, our staff will accommodate the change at the next meal. If you prefer a vegetarian or
Kosher diet, please mention this to your nurse. Also, please alert us to any food allergies you may have. Your meal may be delayed due to scheduled medical tests or procedures. A courtesy meal tray will be provided when medically
allowed after your test/procedure. The hospital cafeteria is also available to family members and visitors.

to 5 p.m. Sunday. To contact the Gift Shop, call ext. 2718.
Smoke-Free Hospital Our hospital is a smoke-free hospital. While smoking in a private room would seem to be a patient's right, the right to freedom
from involuntary second-hand smoke, we believe, must take precedence. Smoking in the hospital also contradicts our basic mission
of regaining and maintaining health. Visitors and patients may smoke only in designated areas outside of the hospital building. Hospital
Policy requires a physician's order permitting patient to smoke.
MAC Machine (ATM/Automatic Teller Machine) An ATM (Automatic Teller Machine) is located in the main lobby near the Gift Shop.
Notary Public Our staff includes Notaries Public who are available to notarize your documents. Call Social Work on ext. 2171 or the Executive
Office on ext. 2011.
Information Desk The information desk is staffed seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. by employees and volunteers who can answer questions
or help locate a patient's room, hospital department or physician. The information desk number is extension 2216.
Mail Please ask your friends and family to put your full name and room number on the front of the envelope and address your mail
to: Lankenau Hospital 100 Lancaster Ave. Wynnewood, PA 19096 If your room is changed or if you are discharged, we will forward any mail you receive.
Latex Balloons Because of our "latex safe" policy, latex balloons are not permitted in the hospitals or surrounding areas. Latex balloons
are filled with and/or covered with powder that gets into the air we breathe and causes more latex sensitivity. It also can
get into wounds and cause adhesions and granulations. Please ask visitors to take latex balloons back out to the car. Mylar
balloons are a safe alternative.
