Annual Employee Giving Campaign <
For our employees, Main Line Health is not just a great place to work...it's a place where great work is done in service to
others. That's why, in addition to giving their time and talent, so many Main Line Health employees give their personal resources
to support our hospitals.
Let's hear what some of them have to say:
 |
“I give back to Lankenau because I like to help out. There are people here who need it more than I do.”
Shervia Weddington Food & Nutrition Services Lankenau Hospital

"I give to the Patient Scholarship Fund because I recognize that there is a real financial need among many in the population
we serve. Too many do not have easy access to the devices, equipment, supplies and the like that are necessary to reach their
"destination for recovery." Giving to the fund helps provide that access for those who otherwise might have their progress
limited or curtailed. Knowing that my contribution goes directly to those patients makes giving an easy decision to make.
Secondly, I give to the Employee Fund for a more selfish motive--because I consider my being able to give any opportunity,
a responsibility, and it certainly is gratifying!”
Harold Phillips Driver, Outpatient Transportation Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital

"I have worked for Paoli Hospital for nearly 30 years and have found it to have many caring and dedicated personnel. I have
needed the services of the hospital a few times over the years and the care I received was excellent. Why do I give to Paoli
Hospital? Because it is a caring hospital that offers quality patient care.”
Laurence R Bishop Supervisor, Engineering/Construction Carpentry Paoli Hospital

"Usually I'm torn between Lankenau and Bryn Mawr when it comes time to make my donation. I began my MLH career at Lankenau,
but my office has been located at BMH since '94, since I do work for the entire system. Both my daughters and all three grandchildren
were born at BMH, but my family utilizes the services and physicians at both Lankenau and Bryn Mawr, so this year I decided
to contribute to both hospitals. The way I look at it, not only am I an employee; I'm also part of the community. I contribute
to the Employee Giving Campaign because MLH hospitals have always been my hospitals of choice and will continue to be in the
future. I want to see our hospitals continue to improve and grow, in order to provide excellent care for future generations
to come.”

"Supporting the Hospital is like putting money away for a rainy day--you know that eventually you are going to need the services
and you want the services to be top notch. It's just common sense to support the place that gives care so that it remains
state-of-the-art. Working in this environment makes it that much more important to me.”
Ro Tucci Manager, Oncology Research and Data Services Lankenau Hospital
|
 |
"Prior to working at Paoli, I worked at a teaching hospital in the city. When I started here four years ago, I noticed something
truly special about it--its personal touch to patient care and its prime focus on the local community. I have participated
in the Employee Giving Campaign for three years and have supported the Nursing Excellence Fund, as well as the expansion campaign,
Building Paoli Hospital. One story at a time. I believe in Paoli Hospital and it believes in me.”
Phyllis Houck, RN, MS, CNOR Clinical Nurse Educator Paoli Hospital

"There is an ever-increasing need for philanthropy to support quality care for our community," Nancy says, acknowledging the
many changes in healthcare and at Main Line Health over the years. She adds, "When I make my annual contribution, I feel grateful
for the wonderful job(s) I have had over the past 25 years, for the income that enables me to give back, and for the opportunity
to target my giving to the programs nearest and dearest to me.”
Nancy Farrington MPI CDR Administrator Information Services Main Line Health

 |
"I work with outstanding people at Paoli Hospital who have nothing but patient care on their minds. They go out of their way
to help their patients and it empowers me so much--it makes me proud to work here. That's why I support the Hospital.”
Lucy Pardo, RT, CT Radiology Paoli Hospital

"I give to Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital because I see the direct impact of the programs I support. The Patient Therapy Scholarship
Fund makes grants to patients with financial need and provides equipment or services they would not be able to get without
those funds. From sneakers for a patient with new braces to needed therapies after insurance limits are reached, I know my
contribution is making a real difference. I was also pleased to support the new Brain Injury Unit expansion project. Every
day, I see how that new unit better serves our patients. I feel good about supporting our patients through the Employee Giving
Campaign."
Rosedale Plumari Director of Admissions and Case Management Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital
