Obstetrics/Gynecology Residency Program <
The Residency Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lankenau Hospital is under the direction of Nancy S. Roberts, MD, who is also Chairman of Ob/Gyn for Main Line Health hospitals. The daily operations of the program are managed by Assoicate
Director Beverly M. Vaughn, MD. All of the attending staff are board-certified or eligible, and many have faculty appointments either at Jefferson Medical College or at other Philadelphia-area medical schools. There are physicians who are part-time salaried for their educational activities. Our subspecialists include four perinatologists, three gynecologic oncologists and four reproductive endocrinologists. The majority of the 31 Ob/Gyn staff have their offices within the hospital complex.

"This is a residency program that trains physicians of the future. We provide a well-balanced educational program in all aspects
of Obstetrics and Gynecology, affording the residents ample opportunity to become facile at gynecologic surgery, knowledgeable
about the science of reproductive health, and truly caring clinicians. Lankenau's program is steeped in tradition with over
45 years of confident and well-trained graduates of our program, now practicing in many areas of this country. Our current
residents are poised to become the future leaders in this field as they carry a strong platform of knowledge and skill into
their future careers."

"Lankenau has always enjoyed a reputation for training excellent physicians. Our program offers not only strong experience
in general ob/gyn, but in maternal fetal medicine, gyn onc, REI and urogyn as well. The residents receive instruction -- in
advanced laparoscopy (including robotics), advanced hysteroscopy and newer techniques of pelvic floor reconstruction. The
learning at Lankenau is both hands on and didactic. Our association with the Lankenau Institute of Medical Research allows
for research which is not usually found ina community hospital. We understand the value of providing multiple educational
opportunities."
"The richness of our residency is enhanced by the diversity of the patients that the hospital serves. Lankenau draws patients
from the suburbs and Philadelphia. The quality of our specialists als makes it a referral institution in the region. Lankenau
is a great place to train and begin your career as an obsetrician/gynecologist. The skills that you develop here will allow
you to practice in the community or continue your training in a fellowship. I am honored to be a part of this vibrant program."
