Your Delivery at Bryn Mawr Hospital

Bryn Mawr Hospital's Family Centered Maternity Unit offers families comprehensive and high quality maternity care in a modern and comfortable atmosphere. Nurses specially-trained in labor and delivery provide expertise and compassion in helping the mother through her delivery.

The unit features eight labor/delivery/recovery rooms furnished in home-like decor. Necessary equipment is stored out of sight, but is convenient when birth is imminent.

Two operating rooms adjacent to the LDR suites are available for cesarean sections.

The 28-bed postpartum unit is a newly renovated area with single and double bedroom accommodations. Our traditional nursery area features a viewing corridor for the convenience of family members and friends.

After delivery, your baby will be taken to the newborn nursery for careful observation and any required testing. In addition to standard testing, all Main Line Health Hospitals routinely perform a hearing screening on your baby to check for any early problems.

As part of our family-centered philosophy, we encourage you to have your baby with you as much as you like, however we are always available to answer your questions and provide guidance during those first days. All Main Line Health Hospitals have special security measures in place to ensure that proper identification is checked each time we bring you your baby.

Your Delivery at Lankenau Hospital

Your baby's birth is important to the entire family. That's why we designed our Family-Centered Maternity Unity to offer you a welcoming atmosphere that combines home-like features with the hospital's professional medical services. We also believe that your baby's birth is a family experience that should include the father/partner and, when possible, your other children and family members.

Single room care at Lankenau Hospital means you will stay in one comfortable and spacious room during your labor, delivery and recovery period. Each room offers a cozy environment for you and your partner's comfort during your labor. State-of-the-art medical equipment, concealed behind cabinets until needed, monitors your contractions, vital signs and fetal heartbeat.

Your Delivery at Paoli Hospital

Paoli Hospital's spacious and beautifully decorated maternity unit offers all private labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum birthing suites. Each room containes a birthing bed, which is converted to position the patient for delivery, then returned to its original form after the baby is born. Concealed equipment is brought out when necessary and each room contains a server station containing everything needed to monitor mother and baby's condition. Each room has a private bath, TV, and VCR and a chair/bed for family members. Families are encouraged to keep the baby with them as much as possible, however our skilled and experienced maternity nurses are available to help whenevery necessary.
