To meet the needs of our growing community, Paoli Hospital is about to begin our largest expansion project to date. When the project is completed, the hospital will increase from approximately 259,000 square feet to approximately 487,000 square feet and will include a new Patient Care Pavilion which will house a new emergency department, a new surgical department featuring 14 new operating rooms, additional inpatient beds for adult acute care, a new critical care area and a new arrival area connecting the Pavilion to the existing hospital. A new parking garage for
more than 700 cars will complement our expanded capacity for inpatient and outpatient care.

Soon, you will see construction equipment and construction teams begin work on campus. We will do everything possible to minimize any inconvenience to you and your family; however, we do suggest that you add a few extra minutes to your projected travel time to accommodate any potential construction matters on campus.

Specific Projects Beginning in 2006:

• March/April 2006: Construction of a water retention basin will begin just south of the campus.
• April 2006: Some hospital employees will begin parking off-site to help ease parking availability for our patients.
• April 2006: Groundbreaking for the new parking garage. Completion of the garage is expected by late spring 2007.
• Next Winter: Groundbreaking of the new Patient Care Pavilion.

How Will Construction Impact Our Patients?

• Our commitment to superior quality care, patient safety and patient satisfaction remains our highest priority.
• Our inpatient and outpatient programs and services will maintain their normal business hours during construction. Our Emergency Department will remain open 24/7.
• At various times, you will see temporary roadways and signage directing you to appropriate parking.
• Free valet parking will be available throughout construction. Follow the directional signage if you’d like to take advantage of this service.
